Years ago, we watched in horror as she drooled on my supervisor. Apologizing, I kept wiping the mess and professing my regret. Telling me to relax, my supervisor held the newborn and said, "Alex, this baby is as sweet as pie; that's not drool, it's just syrup!" My supervisor welcomed a baby drooling in the workplace.

Years later, we are welcoming drooling babies into the workplace at University Baptist Church. The parents of Naomi, Mateo and Luke have
dedicated their children to the Lord at UBC.
Kennedy, Brandon and Sebastian are learning about Jesus in Sunday School. Catherine, Ashley and Christian are reading scripture and playing beautiful music. Mommies and daddies are wiping drooling babies while studying agriculture, public policy and business at
Michigan State University and
Lansing Community College.

Parents are just as apologetic as I once was but I now understand my supervisor's attitude. Children in church are a sweet reminder that God is at work. We're wiping "syrup" on a regular basis and are grateful to walk alongside families of the world as they know, worship and grow (KWaG) as disciples of Jesus Christ.
